Mesh Wi‑Fi basics without the jargon
Mesh systems place multiple nodes so phones roam without manual network switching. Place the main unit near your modem, then spread satellites to cover dead rooms—not stacked in one corner. Avoid thick concrete walls between nodes when you can. Use ethernet backhaul if a node sits near a wired jack; wireless backhaul works, but wires win for 4K streams. Rename the network once, update firmware, and leave band-steering on unless a stubborn device misbehaves. Strong home Wi‑Fi is placement plus patience, not only a bigger box.
